Atlas Sound, Bedoom Databank

Atlas Sound/Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox has been a busy boy. He’s been posting home demo recordings over the past few weeks. All the music varies quite a bit and it can be a bit scatter-brained at times, but there are definitely some gems to be found. Check ’em out:

Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3, Vol. 4 OR If you don’t feel like downloading that much, I made a shorter collection of my favorites HERE.

Cool Your Jets, Parents of Elizabeth and James.

There’s this sweater from Elizabeth and James that I can’t stop thinking about. So I tried to go to elizabethandjames.com just to check on the sweater. Make sure it was doing okay, ya know?

I didn’t bother to google, the URL seemed obvious to me, http://www.elizabethandjames.com:

Whoa. Ummmmm…..

TO THE PARENTS OF POOR ELIZABETH AND POOR JAMES: CHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

WHY NOT JUST HAND OVER THE URL FOR A LIGHT PROFIT? OR IF YOU’RE SO CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY… FOR FREE? MY GUESS? YOU’RE TRYING TO CASH IN ON THIS COINCIDENCE. GROSS. STOP. EWW. START A NEW BLOG TO POST PICTURES OF YOUR FAMILY. IT TAKES 2 SECONDS. IF YOU’D LIKE HELP, CONTACT ONE OF US AND WE’LL GLADLY HELP SEND YOU ON YOUR MERRY, PRIVATE URL LITTLE WAY.

FYI, “The Real Elizabeth and James” had to go with a “dot us” account?! Sadface.

p.s. This is the sweater that started it all. I know, I know. But it’s super soft and way more special looking in person (and in black). I swear:

Antiques Web Show, Vol. 71

This is a nice little gem (and gift from power pop aficionado L. Race.) will help everyone get settled in from stuffing their faces and drinking Four Loko just to break even. I don’t know a terrible lot about the band except that it was mainly one dude, Mitch Easter, from North Carolina and that they weren’t very big. They play slightly heavier power pop and the album is very listenable from start to finish. Enjoy Let’s Active’s 1986 album Big Plans For Everybody.

NTSF:SD:SUV

If anyone has been watching Children’s Hospital, they’ll be happy to know that Adult Swim has just picked up the spin-off fake-promo show NTSF:SD:SUV (National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle) for 12 episodes. Paul Scheer will be starring, writing, executive producing, and I think catering the craft services table for the show. Rob Riggle will be there too. Can’t wait.

Introducing: The Security Pin

“SECURITY!™ is an 18k gold-plated sterling silver pin with white diamonds on the front and back of the piece. An opulent interpretation of the shoplifter’s worst enemy.”

Designed by artist Justin Gignac. Fabricated by Max Steiner Design.

Pretty cool idea, yeah? Attaboy, JG.

We lost another good one. Another damn good one.

Thanks for all the hahahas, Lt Dreben.

(I suppose the comments section is as good a place as any to post your predictions on the next two celebs who will complete the trifecta.)

2 Days until the biggest meal of your life

If your like me and it still hasn’t hit you that Thanksgiving is this Thursday, well get ready cause it’s almost here.  Here are some hand turkeys, enjoy.

Inappropriate laughs are the best laughs.

British comedy about terrorists that are really really bad at being terrorists. Possibly one of the darkest comedies I’ve ever seen, also one of the funniest. Go see it! Angelika!
