Woody is about to bring it again.

Am I the only one excited about this movie?

Jodorowsky’s Dune: The epic that was never made

In 1976 cult Chilean filmmaker, Alejandro Jororowsky, was slated to direct an adapatation of Frank Herbert’s SciFi epic, Dune. Following the release of his mystical Western ‘El Topo’ (1970) and the more psychedelic ‘Holy Mountain’, Jodorowsky attempted to bring ‘Dune’ pto life, garnering talented artists including the French comics artist Moebius, the Swiss artist H.R. Giger (who made the iconic design in ‘Alien’), the British sci-fi artist Chris Foss and the British band Pink Floyd, who would provide the soundtrack. Among Jodorowsky’s rumored cast were Orson Welles, Mick Jagger  and Salvador Dali as Emperor Shaddam IV. Not being able to get the money to produce the movie the way he wanted, Jodorowsky abandoned the project. All that survives of this project is Jodorowsky’s extensive notes, and the production drawings of Moebius, Giger and Foss.

Zut alors!

French Lesbian Vampires in the Student Union

Hey peeps, come watch some the films of Jean Rollin Wednesday at 9PM in the Student Union with my film club, Pratt Film Collective. Pizza will be served and Ethan Spiegland, I believe, is doing an introduction. Come to see your old friend, Collin if these posters aren’t enticing enough.

BBC’s The Trip. Pure genius.

If you guys haven’t been watching this show you should. Here’s just a little taste of the hilarity of Steven Coogan and Rob Brydon:

The World Cup is coming!

And we get this awesome commercial to mark the momentous occasion (to everyone but us Americans).

Noel Gallagher + Ian Brown + Jay Baruchel + Daft Punk + Snoop Dog + Mos Eisley Cantina + Adidas = (watch vid below)

Hollywood: Can we please not do this?

I believe a number of us blogfwends were pretty fanatical about the Swedish vampire masterpiece, Let the Right One In, and when we heard that there would be an American remake only a year after it’s release, we all collectively groaned. Only in America! But especially only in Hollywood! It seems it just keeps getting more and more Americanized! First, it was re-written and directed by Matt Reeves who directed Cloverfield (and a ton of episodes of Felicity). Ok. What’s really dissapointing to me is that child star Chloe Moretz (500 Days of Summer and Kick Ass) is playing Eli.

Yes, folks. This girl:

Will be playing this guy:

Ugh. How cute, she thinks the character is a girl: “And this girl that I play is much darker. She’s dirty. She doesn’t really bathe that much. She’s not glamorous. She’s just a girl that no one could care less about.” If this chick turns Eli (now named “Abby”) into the same smart-ass-beyond-her-years little sister she played in 500 Days, then I am going to be extremely dissapointed. And if there’s one thing I hate more than anything, it’s wise-beyond-their-years little kids in movies.

The only hope: this awesome kid from The Road

Will be playing this guy:

And if they don’t give him Oskar’s exact haircut, then somebody’s going to pay.

The Daily Mail stole my headline for this post.

The Daily Mail has these great photos of bugs covered in morning dew today. Too bad their headline is, “Would dew believe it?“, though. Also, these bugs are totally ripping off the late Alexander McQueen. Show some respect, bugs!

Pretty sure if Lady Gaga saw these she’d figure out a way to become a diamond-encrusted-moth for her next video. I’m ok with that!

Can this be my life screen-saver?

Every time i get tired or my eyes glaze over, I’d like to just have a projection of lichtfront and grosse8’s “augmented sculpture” in front of my face.

Watch it here.
