It’s November, which means it’s almost December, which means it’s almost Holiday time!! Well I’m here to bring you what will surely be my favorite new Christmas song this season. Remember that 90’s SNL sketch where Chris Kattan, Tracy Morgan, Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon sang “I Wish it Was Christmas Today” with bad Christmas sweaters, a keyboard and a little head shake? (Only video I could find is here). Anychristmas! Strokes frontman (and one of my most favorite singers ever) Julian Casablancas has done a cover. Legit!
Rivers Cuomo sings “Viva La Vida”. Why couldn’t Rivers have had this much personality in the good old days of Weezer? All I got was a reclusive singer who hid in boxes and wore full stage makeup 24/7.
Whatevs!

Subtle Sexuality is the girl group of a one Kelly Kapoor and Erin Hannon. Check out their music video featuring Nard Dog and Ryan the Temp.
Today is a fun day at Johannes Leonardo, as our new work with WQXR, New York City’s only Classical Music radio station, and part of WNYC just came out!
The radio station was almost shut down before being bought up and saved by Public Radio International (thus saving Classical Music in NYC), so we did a little project to get the music even closer to New Yorkers, by way of nytimes.com. We used banner space to create a streaming music player for WQXR that has been curated with music suited for each of the seven sections of the paper in which they’ll appear. Tailored classical music while you read the days news, what could be better? The player appears on random articles, but so far I’ve seen it on today’s most popular article in the times, right here.
Nice little write up about it right here, too!
Never thought that bluegrass could sound this sexy. Maroon 5 cover, can ya believe it?! Download here.

Because it’s my turn to post something music-y.
Pitchfork picks the top 500 hits of the decade. My iTunes app is officially closed for the rest of the week.
First one to #1 gets a prize. No peeking.

Barry: OK, buddy, uh, I was just tryin’ to cheer us up so go ahead. Put on some old sad bastard music, see if I care.
Rob: I don’t wanna hear old sad bastard music, Barry, I just want something I can ignore.
Barry: Here’s the thing. I made that tape special for today. My special Monday morning for YOU… special!
Rob: Well, it’s fuckin’ Monday afternoon! You should get out of bed earlier!
Sorry dudes, one more soundtrack just for fun. Even though it’s not Friday.

Hey folks. TGIFFFS (Thank Ganesh It’s Friday For Fuck’s Sake.)
Since we were on the subject of Mark Mulcahy, I figured I’d post up some 90’s supergroup awesomeness from one of my favorite shows of all time. I know I’m not alone on this one.
